RBT & Indiana Jones
40 Friends/Family, 3 dogs and a cat
I didn't go looking for this song.
During the beginnings of Covid-19, I was fortunate to be comfortable and safe in my home at the end of a lane located in Toronto, when the first line of ‘Indiana Jones’ came into my head. Pre-occupied with the disruption and turmoil caused by the virus, I couldn’t get out of my head the constant barrage of recommendations that the medical community and media were strongly advising. So when the line of “I’ve done everything I can, I washed my hands I wiped the walls” popped into my head, it made me stop what I was doing to write the song.
Casually mentioning the song to my long-time friend and videographer Pirkko Saari, the next day, I joked “wouldn’t it be cool to have friends capture phone footage of their time at home and make a video.” To which she replied “I love that. Let's do it!"
A week later, 40 of our friends and family from around the world provided us iPhone footage of what they were doing at home, to accompany a live off the floor recording of me singing my song “Indiana Jones”.
Our project was a plea for people to stay home. To please stay home and to help others less fortunate by donating to The Global Foodbanking Network or to their local food bank.
All money generated from “Indiana Jones” is donated to GFN. As well, music distributor Soundrop is generously waiving any of their fees related to Indiana Jones.
My heart beats with hope and a belief in positive outcomes. And, as we navigate our way through these challenging times, this video is a testimony to what you can do when you wrap your head around a challenge and invest your heart.
