Her Mother's Eyes | YEIMY DAZA, Director
HER MOTHERβS EYES, The Video, Behind the Scenes
YEIMY DAZA, Director
βItβs the morning of the day
her life is gonna change
and itβs quiet
She is in her hotel room
all the girls will be here soon
but not arrived yetβ.
I very much value the team around me. Talented. Passionate. Intentional. A team who sees through different hearts but similar eyes. Artisans, who like me are looking to capture the essence of what inspired and led to those few minutes of song β¦
Yeimy Daza, Director.
Yeimy I have worked together on three of my music videos - βSorry Iβm Lateβ, βGive Me One More Nightβ and now βHer Motherβs Eyesβ.
With each video Yeimy has brought an intuitive sensitivity to the visual narrative that captures not just the mood of the song, but the DNA of the lyric and the melody - of the spaces between, the silences. Her direction feels less like a translation, and is more like an extension of the music, as if sheβs listening with her eyes and shaping images from feeling. I love that her work reveals the songβs deeper intentions - the unspoken truths that sit inside the song β¦ π
A small but mighty team, Iβve watched as Yeimy does what needs to be done to make the way from start to finish and has at times stood happily in the shoes of not only the Director, but the Producer, prop person, powder touch-ups, to craft services.
Above are a few behind-the-scenes images that provide a glimpse of Yeimy Daza at work. Taken during the filming of βHer Motherβs Eyesβ.
